THE COMPATIBILITY GATE

Not Every Shirt
Can Be Sublimated.

The process needs the right fibre content, colour and garment design.

01

Polyester

The dye needs a compatible synthetic fibre to bond correctly.

02

Light base or purpose-made panels

Standard sublimation does not print opaque colour over a dark cotton shirt.

03

Artwork built for seams

All-over colour requires bleed and safe positioning around construction.

PERFORMANCE APPLICATIONS

Full Colour With a Practical Purpose.

Each scene demonstrates a distinct compatible use rather than a generic T-shirt occasion.

ONE PRODUCTION FOCUS

Sublimation.
Explained Properly.

This site does not advertise DTF, screen print or embroidery as alternative services.

TECHNICAL HANDOVER

Design for the Process,
Not Around It.

Sublimation works best when garment, pattern and production file are planned together.

01

Confirm polyester compatibility

Cotton and dark off-the-shelf garments do not become sublimation products.

02

Choose the garment construction

Panel layout, seams and collars affect how artwork meets.

03

Build production artwork

Important marks need safe space away from seams and registration risk.

04

Approve colour and placement

Screen previews and physical fabric can reproduce colour differently.

Questions Before
You Commit.

Read all guidance →
Can you sublimate a black cotton T-shirt?+

No. Standard dye sublimation requires compatible polyester and does not lay opaque ink over dark cotton.

Does sublimation crack or peel?+

The dye becomes part of compatible fibre rather than a surface film, but garment care and fabric quality still matter.

Can artwork cross seams?+

It can, but registration at seams and joins has practical tolerances that must be considered.

Is every polyester shirt suitable?+

No. Fibre content alone does not guarantee the garment construction and colour are suitable.
